Three Great New Ideas for Your Wedding PhotoBot

Congratulations to Tom and Tina on their beautiful wedding day on May 22, 2010. We wish them our very warmest wishes for their new life together. At my request, Tom and Tina have generously agreed to share some of the fantastic ideas they implemented at their wedding. These ideas made sure everyone walked away with a beautiful souvenir that they had lots of fun making, including the bride and groom.

1. Life-size Cut Outs of the Bride and Groom

Life size cut outs!

This is probably the only way to let everyone get their photo taken with the bride and groom. Because they are cut-outs, guests got rather creative with the paper dolls. Girls surrounding the groom doll. Guys posing with the bride doll. We had no end of enthusiasm for using the cut-outs. Since we offer unlimited photos, guests felt free to take a “serious” photo, and returned for many fun ones.  Guests also had a choice.  Tom and Tina created cut outs of three different poses with three different sets of outfits (actually I hear they had some help from their photographer brother, San!).  They then propped up these cut-outs around the venue – the Great Hall of the National Art Gallery – for fun and to welcome guests (you know you’re in the right place!).  After the cocktail hour, these cut-outs were brought to the PhotoBot where we put them to good use.  In the photo below, you can see how real the cut outs look with our special lighting and white photography backdrop!

2. Photo-mounted Thank You Cards

A great souvenir

This photo has myself and my partner on each end with paper cut outs of the bride and groom in the middle.  These cards became a beautiful personal thank you that guests could walk away with immediately.  The bride purchased this beautiful cardstock as scrap paper from Paper Papier in the Byward Market – and then had the cards printed with the custom thank you message.  The bride and groom then signed every card to make it personalized and the cards were supplied to EvenBot staff who mounted a copy of each shot for the guest as they were printed.  What a great keepsake!  Guests just loved them.

3. Scrapbook Pages in Wedding Colours

We’ve helped put together scrapbooks before, but the idea of using scrapbook

pages in wedding colours, and then slipping them into album pockets is definitely worth mentioning.  A copy of each and every guest shot went onto a page and guests were invited to sign or write a message beside them.  The loose pages made it easy for guests to move onto a nearby table to write their message and then bring the page back to us (great for not holding up a crowd) – as opposed to using a ready-made book.  We were provided with a white ink marker for writing on the darker coloured pages (this actually looked the coolest) as well as other colours for guests to choose from.  The highlight for us was the young family who created an entire page dedicated to the bride and groom, using photos of their adorable baby in various poses – SO cute.

I hope you enjoy these wonderful ideas!  We’re booked with many weddings this summer and are looking forward to your creativity!  Thank you once again to the happy couple.
