Hottest Tradeshow Booth: Sex and the City Plus Billings Bridge

billingsbooth_photos

I loved the "crowd effect" from being surrounded by the cut-outs. Which ladies are real?

Get your photo taken with Sex and the City cast members right here in Ottawa! Well, sort of! The EventBot girls and I were treated to a fun weekend at the National Women’s Show this year when we were engaged by Billings Bridge and Starfish Events to PhotoBot their SATC themed booth.

This was the first time (and not the last!) we’ve used life-size stand-ups in photos and it was a blast. While it was possible to squeeze in all four members of the popular cast, Carrie was the favorite for one-on-one poses, with sexy Samantha coming in second.  Of course, part of the fun was also to take pictures with “real-life” best friends who were just walking around together and enjoying the show.  All the action made for a very busy booth as the staff were swamped with ladies wanting souvenir photos and wanting to enter Billings Bridge’s great draw for a trip for 4 to New York City.

Billings Bridge also put together a great Sex and the City fashion show with clothes from the mall (that people in Ottawa can actually buy). I have to mention that one model in particular REALLY looked like Samantha.
Kudos to marketer extraordinaire Greta of Billings Bridge (@Billings_Bridge) and the talented Samantha Moonsammy of Starfish Events (@starfishevents) for a very creative and exciting event with some awesome audience engagement.

A very busy booth!

Also – thanks to Lucy, one of our special events media producers and Kelly Rusk (@krusk) who was a guest producer!

Can’t wait for more creative PhotoBot events of this caliber!

  5. I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
